Maybe, you have started to understand yourself better, and your yoga practice, and you are now feeling more courageous on the yoga mat. So what comes next? Have you explored some of these trending yoga styles? Since yoga entered the West, it has allowed practitioners to become more expressive and creative.
New and popular yoga styles and evolving disciplines emerged to accommodate preferences and personalities. This day's yogis are not only attending Bikram class, Ashtanga yoga, yin yoga, or widespread vinyasa flows. Those are some yoga traditions, and most yogis stick to those still. But the curious might think differently. We created a list of trending yoga styles, including Naked Yoga and Goat yoga. Yes, you read that right.
Laughter Yoga
We all need happiness and health in our lives. However, most times, we end up getting stressed, depressed, losing sleep, feeling isolated, and getting negative thoughts. If you experience this in your life, then you need laughter yoga. This yoga style is a radical, simple, and reflective idea. It is an exercise routine that has become very popular worldwide and is a total well-being workout. Dr. Madan Kataria from India developed laughter yoga, which is practiced in over 100 countries.
So, what are the benefits of laughter yoga?
- It improves your mood – this yoga style helps release endorphins from your brain cells, which are known to improve your mood. As a result, you will be cheerful and in a good and healthy mood all day.

Acro yoga - Partner Yoga
This is a physical yoga practice that combines Thai massage and acrobatics. This yoga style provides both mental and physical health benefits. Moreover, practicing acro yoga helps your partner to improve their concentration, and the massage element of the yoga style offers stress relief. Nevertheless, this yoga style is more dynamic than other traditional yoga practices. Therefore, yogis are advised to be more careful as this style can cause physical injuries.
Yogis have been practicing acro yoga for many years. Sri T. Krishnamacharya features in one of the oldest videos while practicing acro yoga. Krishnamacharya was practicing the acro yoga's role of the base, and a child was executing some yoga asanas. Since then, this yoga style has added new movements, which are still changing.

The practice of acro yoga has three primary roles. These are:
Base – a base is the person in contact with the ground. This person usually lies on the ground, and their back is in contact with the floor. This allows "bone-stacking" of the legs and hands, which provides support and maximum stability for the flyer. The primary contact points with the flyer are the hand and feet.
Flyer – a flyer is a person lifted off the ground, and the base does this. The flyer then performs a series of dynamic poses and mainly allows gravity to do the rest of the work. The flyer needs to have core strength, confidence, and balance.
Spotter – this is the person with the objective view of both the flyer and base. The entire focus of the spotter is to ensure the flyer's safety when landing in case they slip. Also, the spotter can make recommendations to the flyer and base to improve their form.

The practice of yoga is good for your physical health and your sense of mental health too. Today, goat yoga has turned out to be one of the most unusual yoga styles that are being adopted almost everywhere. The practice of goat yoga came as a surprise to many yoga practitioners.
How does practicing yoga with goats improve your exercise, leave alone relaxing, and calm your practice?
Most animals, like goats, love to interrelate with people, which has numerous health benefits. Research has revealed that animals can assist humans in living longer and even reduce stress-related symptoms.
Beer yoga
Brooke Larson is the person who coined the term "Beer Yoga" in February 2014. This style, also known as brewery yoga, is a style where practitioners practice yoga at taprooms or breweries. At times, yoga practitioners usually drink beer as they practice different yoga moves.

Ganja yoga
This is a cannabis-enhanced yoga, which Dee Dussault has taught, its author since 2009. According to Dussault, Ganja Yoga helps relieve pain, relaxation, and well-being and cultivates inner peace. Ganja Yoga has less physical intensity compared to other yoga poses. This type of yoga is based on good alignment and mindfulness, which helps prevent injuries. Ganja Yoga is designed for anyone.
The founder of this yoga style believes that combining marijuana and mindfulness can assist in improving a yogi's health. Cannabis has some anti-inflammatory benefits. Mainly it is CBD products that help in relieving pain and managing depression and anxiety. Some CBD products include beverages, oils, edibles, and other products manufactured with cannabidiol, which is a component of cannabis.
A Ganja Yoga class starts with the yoga students sampling different products. Then, an hour of yoga practice follows, with regular breaks for a puff. Yoga students may feel a bit loopy after the yoga class. Therefore, Gaja Yoga teachers advise their students to remain around for half an hour so that they can sober up.
Naked or Nude yoga
Naked or nude yoga, a Sanskrit word for Vivastra yoga or Nagna yoga, is a practice where practitioners do not wear clothes. Even though many yogis practice naked yoga in nature or at home, there is a growing number of people practicing naked yoga in groups. If you are not a naturist out to the fingertips, then a good option is to do online yoga in your own home; you choose the yoga form you prefer. The practice of naked yoga has gained popularity, mainly in the West, especially in societies that are more familiar with "social nudity."
Nude yoga should be categorized according to the dress code at the yoga classes, which varies from yoga directions and time. According to Bhagavata Purana, naked yoga has been practiced since ancient times. Practicing spiritual nudity is not strange in the Aghori Sadus, Digambara Jains, and other ascetic groups among the Dharmic religions.

Aerial yoga - Anti-gravity yoga
Also known as anti-gravity yoga, Carmen Curtis from California founded it. Today, aero yoga is practiced in several countries, integrating some of the traditional yoga postures, dance, and pilates with a hammock.
Aerial yoga needs a particular type of hammock, which is used as a prop and can hold a weight of up to 300 kilograms. The ring comprises a webbing strap, support chains, carabiners, and a silk hammock. Two support chains hang from the ceiling, and the hammock is connected to the chains. Yogis use the hammock as a soft trapeze or swing, which supports their hips for forward and backward bends. Some yoga poses that are challenging to practice while on the ground, such as the reverse post, are a bit easier to perform with the assistance of the hammock. In addition, the hammock adds some workouts to your session.

Sup Yoga
SUP is a short form of stand-up paddleboard yoga, and it combines different yoga postures with variations of stand-up paddleboard surfing. This type of yoga incorporates vinyasa and hatha poses on a paddleboard of 10 to 12 feet. SUP yoga is mainly practiced on water, particularly in a slow river, lake, or bay.
The practice of SUP yoga needs different alignments because the paddleboard is constantly moving. Yogis must make slight weight distribution and body position adjustments to counterbalance the paddleboard movements.
This form of yoga came from Hawaii in the early 40s, but it has its roots in India. Within a short time after its introduction, SUP yoga has gained many followers worldwide. Doga
Doga is another name for Dog Yoga, where yogis practice yoga with their pet dogs. Through human yoga, dog training, gentle massage, stretching, and meditation, Doga yoga practitioners aim to accomplish a greater harmony and positive attachment with their pet dogs. Canine chanting and acupuncture also take place during the regular Doga routine.
Doga practice has two philosophies:
The dog is either a partner or used as an object. The first approach comes from Canada, while the second comes from the USA. While practicing Doga, the practitioner and the pet dog usually work as one unit. The dog owner assists the dog in enabling different poses. In other cases, the dogs can be used as instruments or yoga props while the owners perfect their postures. This style is considered a distinctive way of non-traditional yoga practice and training while discovering power-play dynamics.
The second philosophy puts to be a yoga partner, where both the human and the dog accomplish routines simultaneously. The owner performs the downward dog pose, and their dog performs the same pose. Broga is very popular in the united states, and it is mainly offered in yoga classes, retreats, and workshops.
