Ujjayi meets Sun Salutation A

Yoga from home can be challenging, and you might not know where to start. Sun salutations are always suitable for beginners and experienced alike to get the blood flowing and warm up the body.

What is Ujjayi, and why do we breathe with sound during our physical practice of yoga?

In this first practice video, we step back to the basics to learn the first part of the Ashtanga yoga sequence, which is the Sun Salutation.

Twisted Twists

Let's squeeze the body with this vinyasa flow! Indian yoga master B.K.S. Iyengar describes twists as a "squeeze-and-soak" action: The organs are compressed during a twist, pushing out blood filled with metabolic by-products and toxins.

When we release the twist, fresh blood flows in, carrying oxygen and the building blocks for tissue healing. So, twists stimulate circulation and have a cleansing and refreshing effect on the torso organs and associated glands.

Beat the Monday Blues

This Pranayama class can be practiced any day of the week, even though it is called Beat the Monday Blues. It is a class that is part of our weekly pranayama program.

The first breathing technique of the week is Nadi Shodana. Alternate nostril breathing is designed to bring us into balance and set us up in the best possible way for the week.

The second technique is Sitali. Cooling and calming are the perfect antidote to a heavy weekend.

Improve your focus and Beat the Monday Blues.

Full Body Kettlebell class

Welcome to a yoga class using a kettlebell. Adding extra weight to your training will help you get stronger and make your tissues and joints more resilient. Find a weight that works for you to move through these 20 minutes and drop de bell if it gets too heavy.

Lizette started with at-home yoga workouts on Youtube and have now a large selection of strengthening classes at Yogateket.
